Closing on Monday went wonderfully! We haven't actually moved yet...we have until next weekend to be out of our apartment, so we decided to work on some of the bigger projects first and get them as far along as possible before we actually moved. Josh has been working so, so hard and has already gotten so much finished!
Here are a few in-progress pictures of the downstairs. We are so grateful for everyone who has helped us with this!! My uncle Craig, Josh's dad, my parents, Laura and Johnny have all been over to help us out, and we are so thankful for them!

Josh has also been building a nook bed in Madilyn's room. Walking in and seeing it was incredible. He has just done such an amazing job, and I know that Madilyn will love it!

There is going to be a platform built across those slats to support her mattress, and then the lower part of the holes at the head and foot will have solid coverings to make a little bit of a headboard and footboard. The upper parts of the holes will each have two bookshelves, and the bottom shelf at each end will lift out to be able to acess a finished space under it. The opening will have trim/casing, and there will be three drawers underneath - you can see the holes for these in the first few pictures. Josh's uncle Kevin builds custom cabinetry, and he is so kindly making us the drawer boxes and drawers! It will be a little bit before they are ready, so Josh covered the holes with drywall for the time being.

While Josh has been working so hard on all of these projects, Madilyn and I have packed everything up at the apartment. Each day we take a trip over to the new house, and we've been able to get quite a bit moved just in the car. Madilyn has been a great helper with all of the moving! The plan is to move all of the big stuff on Thursday, so we can be 'offically' moved by the weekend!
